Going on a catered ski holiday can seem a little expensive but we will give you many reasons why you should spend that little bit more!
Do you normally go on a self catered ski holiday? So you have booked your ski accommodation and you touch down at the airport? You have to sort out the hire car, worry if it comes with snow chains, start panicking about driving in snow, that’s just the start and you haven’t even left the car park.
Let’s Go back!
You have splashed out this year and spent that little extra, flights booked and you arrive at the airport. Well the chalet you have booked your ski holiday with will be there waiting for you, no need to worry about hiring a car, snow chains ect...
Normally with in 2 hrs you will be at your accommodation, relaxed and shown around your chalet, no need to work out how to turn on the oven, find out where the supermarket is. This time you are going to be cooked for and not just one course, choose the right the chalet and you could be eating 4 courses every night.
What else have you got to look for on a catered ski holiday, ski passes waiting for you at the chalet, no long waits in the ski pass office?
Ski hire, normally you would drive around the ski resort looking for the best equipment, best prices. Well your chalet host will drive you to their recommended ski out let and generally they will be able to give you a great discount.
If your catered ski chalet is not within walking distance of the lifts, most ski chalets will drive you to the slopes and pick you up, not familiar with the ski area well you are in luck as most chalet hosts will offer a couple of days ski guiding. Once your days skiing is over and you will be collected from the slopes and returned back to the chalet where afternoon tea and cake will be waiting for you, what more could you ask for!
Around 7 pm you will sit down to your dinner with wine, no need to bring your own. No cooking, no washing, no stacking the dishwasher. Just relax, enjoy the night and talk about your days skiing. And the best part is you get to do it again all week.
So next time you book your holiday, think about the pros and what you normally would of paid on a self catered ski holiday, all the extras, car hire or private transfers, food, wine ect ... when you take this into account your probably looking at £75 per head more, which we think is well worth the extra cost. At the end of the day you will get to relax and spend more time skiing.
