The Farmhouse, Morzine

Boutique hotel in the heart of Morzine

The Farmhouse (known locally as the Mas de la Coutettaz) is a stunning 11 bedroom boutique chalet hotel located in the heart of Morzine.  Being the oldest building in the pretty town of Morzine - this building oozes character and charm in every corner.  The rooms are all differently decorated and themed and are unique in every way.  They include the town's old 'Cell', as well as a gorgeous standalone 'Mazot' room in the garden.

The Farmhouse is half board and the chefs consistently produce outstanding meals at breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner time.  Before and after dinner, guests settle down in front of the roaring open fire in the bar and relax in the cosy sitting room.

We have 11 different rooms available in the Farmhouse of varying size, style and price.  Some examples can be seen below:

Corner Room:  This room, with its superb views over Super Morzine, Avoriaz and ‘The Pleney’ was quite possibly one of the original bedrooms in the Farmhouse.

It is a very large double room with a lovely en-suite bathroom.  It is ideal for a couple and also for a family as it can comfortably sleep up to four people.

Old Kitchen: This room did not exist until 1901, but used to be part of the stables.  It was later used as the kitchen to take the place of the traditional cooking area (the open fire!) in the original main living room.

These days it is one of most comfortable rooms.  This room faces the impressive ‘Roc d’Enfer’ in the distance and can be configured as a double, a twin or a triple, as suits the guest’s requirements. It has a handsome Victorian style en-suite bathroom and a very sunny disposition.

Blue Room: This room would probably have originally been the main living room for the family as it is from this room that all others could have been accessed.  As you can see although the room is not in fact blue, the name dates back to the original owners.

Often booked for Honeymoons or romantic stays this room has an en-suite Victorian style bathroom and a modern four poster bed. It overlooks the old town square and church with a view towards Avoriaz and the Ressachaux mountain range.

The room is large enough to have an extra single bed in, if necessary.

The Family Suite: These rooms were probably some of the original bedrooms, and may even have been used by the master of the house.

This suite comprises of two adjoining bedrooms. The outer room has a double Bateau Lit and view onto the Old town square and Church and the inner room, two single beds with a view towards Nyon over the Farmhouse garden. Each room is sufficiently large to add an extra single bed and so accommodate a group or family of 6 comfortably.

The suite has an en-suite bath and shower room with separate W.C. There is also an adjacent bathroom just down the hall that can be used by this room.

The Cell: Once the town’s only Prison Cell, in the window sill one can still see where the bars used to be! This room can be configured as a twin or double. The en-suite Victorian bathroom is particularly cosy and perfect for a post-mountain soak. The window faces out onto the garden and the old water trough.

This room may have originally been a parlour or tack room.  The alcoves used to look into the stables next door, now the Dining Room, to allow the family to keep a close eye on their livelihood, the cattle, then underneath here was the cheese cellar.

Breakfast: continental buffet and English breakfast or cooked breakfast to order

Afternoon Tea: Cakes, biscuits, scones, french bread and speads

Dinner: 3 or 4 course gourmet dinner each evening with fantastic wine and coffee and chocolates in the bar afterwards
