If you are looking for a cheap ski holiday then Bulgaria is for you. Bulgaria is no way as big as its neighbours, skiing is limited to around three main ski resorts, Bankso, Borovets and Pamporovo. Bulgaria and its skiing are really more for the novices, though if you look you will find some off piste and it will be untracked.
One of the good things is that Bulgaria is still very cheap, accommodation and food that you will find offers great value for money. The arrival of Bansko in 2004 prompted other resorts to improve, adding a few extra runs and modern lifts. The ski areas of Bulgaria are not large and the season doesn’t last as long as other countries but there are plenty of snow canons to see that snow lasts as long as it can.
Bulgaria is a great location for the younger crowd looking for a ski holiday and some great après ski. As for ski accommodation you will find mainly hotels and B&B, there are the odd catered ski chalet companies operating. Overall if you are looking for a different experience then give Bulgaria a go
