Description:

Alpe d’Huez ski resort and area consists of Alpe d’Huez itself and five other resorts hidden away between pine trees and mountain peaks. The other ski villages are Auris-en Oisans , La Garde, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Villard –Reculas. All the mentioned resorts have kept their beautiful traditional charm of the French Alps.

Alpe d’Huez ski area has some of the most stunning mountain ranges in France, it has be known that on a clear and sunny day that from the “Pic Blanc” which rises to 3330m  above sea level, you can view 1/5 of French territory.

The resort is situated on a south facing plateau at 1860m above sea level and records up to 7.5 hours of sunshine in December and 11 hours per day in April.

Not only does this resort receive fantastic snow fall but amazing sunshine to go with it as well.

All types of skiing and snowboarding can be found here, from a great selection of green runs above the main village and around the area of “Signal de l’Homme”. For those looking for something a little bit more challenging, including blacks try the ski area just under the “Pic Blanc”

For those seeking off piste terrain, you certainly will not be disappointed. From steep couloirs around the “Grand Sablat” or the “Col de la Pyramide”.

Here you will find the longest ski run in the French Alps, the Sarenne, a total of 16km in length.

Plenty of bars, some run by fellow Brits and very good selection of restaurants can be found in the resort.
