Description:

Meribel ski resort can be found at a height of 1450m in the Tarentaise Valley and forms part of the ski region of the Three Valleys . Together with La Tania, Courchevel, Brides les Bains, Val Thorens, Les Menuires, St Martin de Belleville and Orelle  you can find 600km of pistes making this one of the largest areas in Europe and the world.

Meribel was the brain wave of not a French local but a Scotsman by the name of Colonel Peter Lindsey who thought the hamlet of Morel and Meribel would make a great ski resort. In 1938 work begun on the first ski lift just above Meribel in the village of Les Allues.  One of the more traditional purpose built resorts in France with chalet style architecture.

The resort  occupies a very central position within the Three valleys lift system. Plenty of ski runs to suit all types of skier or snowboarder, easy cruising pistes  to very challenging black runs. Lots of tree runs to ski when the weather closes in. Other resorts can be reached very quickly by very up to date lift system. Some great runs include the 100m vertical drop of the Combe du Vallon, one of the longest runs in the Three Valleys.

Meribel takes great pride in maintaining its pistes and guaranteeing guaranteeing snow throughout the season with over 700 snow canons and 23 piste bashers.
